Variables / Variable Sets

To create a new item or modify an existing item, navigate to service catalog > catalog Definitions > Maintain Items

once an item is published to the Service Catalog, users will be able to order it

Variables

• Global by default
• Define the questions to ask the end user ordering the catalog item]Question choices can define the available options and may affect the order price

Examples

• Which monitor size?
• Who is the hiring manager?
• What is the budget code?

Functionally, a variable set is just a container, so it has only two fields: Name and description.

From the Application Navigator, select Service Catalog > Catalog Variables > Variable Sets, and create a new variable set. After you save the variable set, you will get a related list at the bottom where you can add as many variables as you want
