Specific instructions to the clone process:
System Clone > Clone Definition > Exclude Tables
- lists the tables on the target system that are not overwritten by the clone process.
- When a table is excluded, an empty table is preserved.
- To keep the table data, navigate to
- System Clone > Clone Definition > Preserve Data
- add the table to the list.
Data sets are kept when a table is excluded
- In the Clone Data Preserves list, data sets are kept when a table is excluded from the cloning process.
- After the table is created as an empty table on the target instance, the preserved data is used to fill the empty table with data.
- Data preservers are primarily intended to preserve system settings (for example, MID server settings and themes).
Cleanup Scripts
- Cleanup Scripts: consider the sending and receiving of email when cloning.
- From System Properties > Email Properties, in the Send all mail to this test email address (non-production testing) field, you may enter one or more email addresses to globally receive all email.
- This setting can be used during the clone operation to capture emails.
